Interesting thoughts indeed about 'our' physical/material condition in NewArk. This is a global crisis for oppressed People of Colour. May I offer a humble perspective regarding Recovery.
What we may be witnessing is a return of the Repressed. An economic order that is built upon destruction of a people's psyche is becoming undone. Volumes has been written about the outcome/results. No one has focused on the insidious processes that sustain the phenomena. Some of Us will lay out a Seven Point Plan of Recovery in a detailed strategy for Deliberation.
Such a seemingly distressing and discordant state of existence requires more than a diunital (either/or) approach to resolution.
Not only do we not need permission, but more importantly, We Must Do For Self.

The more the cost of living goses up the more unstable our lives will become. Instead of one income to maintain a family unit you need two incomes to maintain a family unit. Cost of living is the main thing that politicians will have to address sooner or later I hope sooner. Cost of living is destabilizing our comfort zones. It is destablizing our working environments. Rising costs are forcing companies to lay people off. Rising costs are eroding our Finacial stability in this country. That is a "Economic Reality"

I like your comments but with a twist. Cost of living goses up each year. Each year past and everything begins to cost more and more. How ever there is no talk about how to fix this problem. At the same time Muncipal budgets are getting smaller and smaller. We fight for lower taxes which makes up 1% of our cost of living which could benefit government and balance budgets for government. But we never ask why every year our cost of living still goes up but never stalls or goes down.
African Americans Pay higher interest rates than the normal American do. In fact 2 to 5 points higher. There is always a middleman we have to go to inorder to get a loan. Case in point.
Poor African Americans do not have credit cards therefore thier credit is still good nor can they get a loan from a bank. Because they don't have enough income. Either way thier credit is still good. In this country if you make under 200 thousand dollars a year. you get a interest penality for making less than 200 thousand dollars the lower your income the more chance you will pay a higher interest rate.
